LinkLane Helper
The Mac App Store version of LinkLane runs in Apple's App Sandbox. The sandbox does not allow apps to launch other apps with options – but that is exactly how Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge select a profile, and Dia needs automation for it. LinkLane Helper is a small, free companion app that does this one job for LinkLane.
You only need it for fixed profiles in Chrome, Edge or Dia. Everything else – rules, source apps, Safari, Firefox, Chrome/Edge/Dia with “Browser decides” – works without it. The directly distributed version of LinkLane does not need the helper either.

Installation
- Download and unzip the file.
- Move “LinkLane Helper” to the Applications folder.
- In LinkLane, check Browsers → LinkLane Helper: it should show “Installed”.
The helper has no window and starts only when LinkLane needs it; it quits after a minute without requests. For a fixed Dia profile, macOS asks once whether LinkLane Helper may control Dia.
Security
- It only accepts requests from apps signed as LinkLane by the same developer and ignores everything else.
- It only opens HTTP/HTTPS links and local HTML files in Chrome, Edge or Dia with a valid profile and never accepts arbitrary launch options.
- It makes no network connections and stores no data.
Uninstall
Quit LinkLane and move “LinkLane Helper” from Applications to the Trash.
